Nigeria is one of the largest as well as the wealthiest countries in Africa. It is full of beautiful cities, from urban cities to rural locations, everything about Nigeria is mesmerizing. Cities like Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt, Benin City and Kaduna are the famous cities in Nigeria.
Abuja:
Abuja is the capital city of Nigeria. It is a well planned city located in the central part of the country. It is a best destination for a holiday and homes many up-scale shopping malls, botanical gardens, picturesque sights, humble locals and so on. Abuja also comprises many natural wonders such as Zuma Rock, Gurara Waterfalls and Aso Rock. Abuja also homes a magnificent national mosque which is known as Abuja National Mosque which is located outside the city. It is an impressive religious structure with a large gold dome and wonderful four marinates. It is also known as Nigerian National mosque and a huge number of Muslims visit the mosque to offer their prayers. It was built in 1984 and has a brilliant library. There is also a national church in the city; The National Christian Centre. It is the primary Christian place ofworship in the whole country.
Lagos:
Lagos is the biggest city and a former capital city of Nigeria. It is the fastest growing city in the world and homes many outstanding landmarks, exotic beaches and friendly citizens. It’s the great place for those who are fond of shopping, beach-life, history and great food. There is a National Museum where you can ancient engraved ivory, crowns, remains and brasses of Benin City. There are many beaches in Lagos which are the main attraction like, Tarkwa Bay and Eleko Tourist Beach. Shopping spots like Palms Shopping Centre, the City Mall and Mega Plaza are rich of quality products and goods. A lot of amazing festivals are celebrated in the city; Eyo Masquerades is the famous one. Like all other major citiesof Nigeria, Lagos also has an international airport that is know as The Murtala Muhammad International Airport. Due to the city’s popularity, many tourists book their cheap flights to Lagos every season.
Port Harcourt:
The city of Port Harcourt is known to be “the garden city” due to its heavenly nature. The city is filled with many parks, lakes, gardens, rivers, flowers and beautiful trees which give a relaxing feeling. It is the capital of Rivers State and is oneof the most important cities of Nigeria. It homes Nigeria’s biggest oil industry, two stadiums, an international airport and two seaports. It is also the most important port of Nigeria and is considered as the business hub of the country.
Kaduna:
Kaduna is located in north-central Nigeria and is the state capital of Kaduna State. The meaning of the word Kaduna is City of Crocodiles which reflects the aggressive heritage. Kaduna is loacated on Kaduna River and has a moderate pleasant weather and has a few yet wonderful places to visit. Gamji Gate is one of the famous places in Kaduna. There are many parks in the area which features bars, restaurants, swimming pools, camel rides and there is a Zoo as well.
Benin City:
The city that grips enchanting atmosphere and serene sights is the Benin City. It is a capital city of Edo State in southern Nigeria and is an important center for traditional art. The city is surrounded by historical fosses and features the best bronze casters in West Africa.
